LAMBDA REMOVAL

LAMBDA DEFEAT SOFTWARE

Every new car, and most cars produced after 1980 have an oxygen sensor. The sensor is part of the emissions control system and feed datas to the engine managment computer. The goal of the sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible.

A LAMBDA sensor normally will have a life of between 30,000 to 50,000 miles, but it is known that the LAMBDA sensor can fail prematurely if it becomes clogged with carbon deposits, or is contaminated by lead from leaded petrol or silicone from an anti-freeze leak or from a silicone sealer. As the sensor ages, it will become less accurate and slower with its readings. Eventually, it will produce an unchanged signal or no signal at all. When this happens, the CEL (Check Engine Light) may be displayed on the dash panel warning you of a fault, and the engine will experience drivability issues caused by an overly rich fuel mixture. Poor fuel economy, elevated CO (Carbon Monoxide) and HC (Hydrocarbon) emissions, poor idle, and/or including hesitation on acceleration are the normal symptoms. There are many problems relating to faulty or poor LAMBDA sensor readings, misfiring, stumbling, high emissions, and generally poor performance.

Also, beyond the issues noted above, there are applications for race conditions where a sports cat or de-cat is fitted, thus, reducing the efficiency, creating LAMBDA Efficiency error faults wihtin the ECU and resulting in a loss of power – this threshold can be raised or completely removed. With a total de-cat system, this is applicable and where LAMBDA defeat is essential to maintain optimum performance with no limp more or CEL. It also can give you much more flexibility in tuning to optimise for a wide range of bolt on tuning parts.

Currently, we can offer this service for all Bosch ECUs and some Siemens. For example, the MSD80 units as fitted to the new BMW 335i & 135i models. However, we are always developing solutions for other vehicles, so please e-mail us with your requirements.

If you have any questions or would like to enquire about any of our services please do not hesitate to call us on 07527 427 500. Alternatively you can contact us here.
